I am putting in a pit blind. Was curious on dimensions for a 4-5 man pit blind. I know some of you guys shoot out of pits. Looking for some dimensions or ideas. Thanks!

Yeah I was thinking 4 feet wide and 4 ft deep. Most likely 12 feet or so long. Mainly for 4 guys but most of the time it prob wouldn't be that. I was going to frame up a box and drop it into the hole. Plywood walls andfloor with a bench. I have been looking at some pics and some of these pit blinds. You could have a party in there. Not looking to cook n clean in the thing.

Just make sure you go deeper than four and take yourself out a drain to give the water that is bound to get in there somewhere to go. Gravel, sand, something other than clay, otherwise you'll be hunting out of waders or need to invest in a decent trash pump.
Luckily for me I own 2, 3" trash pumps. I'm a poolguy remember lol. What you guys do for lids? I dont want to come out an have some vermin in my hole. Wanted to make like garage door runners on top so the lid can slide back n forth. Anyone do anything like that?
My trash pump...and ice eater

If I build a pit blind it will be basically flush with the ground. Anything raised up I mine as well use my layouts. Trying to avoid humps and mounds. I want to completely dissapear

My plan is to get the pond re dug and pit dug this week. I will be hauling away the dirt from the pit. Once the frame is built and put into the hole I will back fill with the some of the dirt we took from the pond. So hoping by the time sept comes around the grass/hay will be there like nothing happened. I will re seed if needed. Hoping to get it as flush as possible.
We may turn the grass field into corn. Gotta make up my mind soon.
