Winglock---which call???

5759 Views 11 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  setter
After a considerable amount research on the net I've finally decided that I'm going to order a Winglock goose call. The Winglock calls apparently have a good sound and more importantly, they fit my budget.

Which call would most likely be the best choice? The Winglock Delrin Short Reed or the Winglock Goose Whisperer Delrin Short Reed?

I hunt mostly over water, however there are a few land hunts thrown into the mix. As well I generally hunt resident geese, as I do not live on a fly-way.

Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I'd stick with the original version, the whisperer would be a little on the quiet side for field hunting.
Rick has a Hybrid and has just come out with a SR with longer insert. Has full range but can get low and nasty. Check them out also.
That new call with the longer insert is supposed to absolutely rock!!!!! Louder and deeper than the originals.
I'v got the maple winglock short reed for x-mas. Its really easy to blow and sounds pretty close to my more expensive zink. Is there any way to get the maple shortreed without the package deal with the duck call? I got that to but cant find the maple solo. Doesent take much backpressure at all.
The winglock walnut is a solid call for the money...for 35 bucks I've been impressed since I got them in early last fall.

Just ordered the Winglock Delrin with the free Shawn Stahl video from Trader Outdoors...

I still absolutely love my Sean Mann Express Shorty that they sent me by mistake, but I want to add a Winglock to my lanyard since I've heard a lot of great things about them.

How many calls are too many????:D:D:D

fyi, the video costs $10 and you're paying full retail for the call so you're actually paying the same. Either way though, you'll be happy with the call.
I finally recieved my winglock delrin call this morning, also included was the Honker Talk DVD and a Zink Paralyzer. I've been fiddling around with both of the calls but I think I like the Winglock better.

After watching the Honker talk film, I found that there is a whole lot more to goose calling then I thought. Luckily i've got a few months to practice. I'd better get started, i've got a lot to learn
