They work so well because they have photographic images of geese, which look the most realistic. The only disadvantages are that they give off a glare and its hard to get the stakes in the ground when its frozen.
why does everyone seem to like silos
I am pretty new to goose hunting and don't understand why silos would work so well. I know that they are easy to transport, but whats the other advantages?

you could use a electirc drill for the frozen ground

They are also high profile--meaning they stand up high so they can see them at a distance.
As for sun glare--buy the Real Geese Pro series--no shine on 1 side.
