Where are the geese?????????

After a great year of goose hunting last year, I am wondering where all the geese are in 2004. I found 4-5 hot spots in Beaver County, Pa (north of Pittsburgh). I went scouting 3 times before the season and talked to a bunch of farmers. Even they were surprised by the lack of geese this year. The first day I saw 3 geese in the distance that had no interest in my decoys.

I heard the cut oat fields were hot for a while but I can't find any newly cut fields. Maybe I need to pick another county to hunt in.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I can't find any geese here in southeast PA. We have been out three times scouting and nothing. They are not even flying in the air. We talked to one local farmer and he said he has alot of geese out in his fields every year in the past but not this year.
same here im from MN and last year we couldnt get enough geese. This year for early season i was on a hay field overlooking my town and all i saw was 8 flocks of like 20-25. That day we only had 2 flocks that worked and i only got 3 birds out of it. Last night my friend Scott saw 200 geese a mile high flying south?? wtf?? are they not even gonna make pit stops along the way?? im sad over this event, but ill keep my hopes up  ..... I wanna kno too where the birds at??

Well I wish I could help you boys ou. But they sure as hell aren't down here in CO yet. It would be nice if some of them would make their way down here by Oct. 2nd but I'm not getting my hopes up. That's when our early season opener is. Hopefully we will have more than the local group of 30 to shoot at.
I've noticed the same dissapearring act with our local flocks as well. I spoke to a local farmer. He stated that with the wet cool summer we've had in Western PA, the oats were cut early and the geese are bouncing around looking for feed. I've been seeing several small flocks but nothing like I have seen in past years.
WOW HERE IN YORK COUNTY PA. HAVE SEEN SEVERAL FLOCKS AND THEY ARE FEEDING IN THE CUT CORN FIELDS. I HAVENT EVEN DUSTED OF MY DEKES YET. GUESS I BETTER GET BUSY. DID GET TO GO ON A HUNT TO HELP RID THE LOCAL GOLF COURSE OF LOCALS ON MON. WE KNOCKED THE PEE OUT OF EM. GUESS I BETTER GET READY TO FIELD HUNT. GOOD LUCK
The migrators are back around here.
i just got back and we had nearly 1000 geese flying everywhere around us and we had only put out a dozen wind socks and two robo ducks. we had the intention of duck hunting but when the ducks and geese showed up at the same time we had no clue what to do. we had ducks and geese all over our spread on the ground. i got hit by one and another brushed my buddies head.
