hey fella's just wondering what you all like to shoot for geese? this last week i bought a box of 3.5 BBB winchester supreme High Velocity Steel Shot.......................... BOY O BOY that round worked amazing..... i would reccomend this shell to anyone using a nova. thats what i am shooting and it just worked a number on these honkers. i got my limit early and my friend was using an old gun..... only shooting 2 3/4 #2 shot so i let him use my gun...... this flock came over and was way up there...... 65 70 yards and he shot once and smoked this goose. just absoluetly burned it!!!!!!! another reason i like it is that instead of paying $20 for 10 shots of bismuth. tungsten, or hevi shot i am paying $20 for 25 shots and it did just as well as any of that expensive stuff.............. however i was just wanting to see what all you guys use and if it works good for you.

THANKS

For the money and knock down power I shoot 3" BB kent fasteel. I shoot a browning 2000 and they cycle right through. For 9-12 dollars for a box of 25 shells you can got wrong. Its a pretty popular shell around my side of PA and also in Delaware. Hope this helps.
i shoot kents in 3-1/2" and they rock those honkers 1-9/16oz in BB and for ducks i shoot #2's in the same load.
Honkerkiller,
Couldn't agree more. Our pit has been shooting kent 3 1/2" BB for geese and 3" 2s for ducks. Can you say CRUSH? Excellent factory shell for the money!

I shoot hevi-shot out of a 20 gauge to keep the cost down. I can shoot hevi-shot for $1.13 after the rebate from remington in 2 3/4 inch shells in #4s. I will still kill geese stone dead out to 40 yards.
3" 20ga #1's is the goose killer of my choice.

Double Clucker
I shoot Hevi-Shot and Tungstun-Iron. I know it's a little more pricy but to me it's worth every penny. It helps when hunting on a lake to kill em' dead in the air and not sail any off cus then you have to chase them and that just sucks. Plus, I figure why shoot cheap shells when they might be the most important part. You have all this money invested into your gun, decoys, and automobiles. Why short your self out by shooting cheaper shells. Just my .02
My son and I shoot 2 3/4" hevi-shot #4 in our 12ga's and my daughter shoots 3" hevi-shot in her 20ga. The stuff really rocks the geese :D

waterfowler4
10 Gauge 3.5in Hevi 2 or 4 for geese
12GA 3 in hevi 4 for ducks

10ga Remington nitro steel bb or 2 for Snows mixed in with some hevi
Kent faststeel 3.5 bb's although today I think they only put 1 bb in my shell cause I missed 3 geese. Darndest thing I ever saw. ha ha. You can't go wrong with kent.
I shoot 3.5 BBB or T for geese (bigger the shot the harder they fall) and #4 for greenheards.

Good hunting,
Goose man
Kent Fast Steel 3" BB...$9.99 for 25 at Cabela's, they're a blast!
Kent Fast Steel BB is the best bang for the buck in my opinion. I have shot some #2 hevi-shot and it did a great job but it's still way too expensive.
I'm shootin the 3-1/2 inch HV loads... 1550 FPS... #2's
On ducks and geese.
The seem to pattern very well in my gun..

Noteworthy: the same load in BB's don't pattern for crap.. go figure
I've tried every choke in the book too...

I'd love to shoot Hevi's too.. but, the price is too high

Jerr
just this snow goose season I started using 3 1/2 in BBB for snows
i used 2 3/4 in BB for Canadas but next year i'm going all 3 1/2 in BBB

It gives plenty of knock down power for long high shots and I don't like runners
In the past I used Hevi Shot and had good results. A buddy told me he bought some Federal Premium Heavyweight at Rogerssportinggoods.com. I gave the 3-1/2" #4 a try and shot geese at amazing distances 50 plus yards. I can only imagine what kind of damage I can do with the #2 shot. This stuff is 20% more dense than Hevi Shot. The price they have on it makes it affordable to shoot.
i buy cheap shells and work on getting the birds closer.
3 inch federal blue box BB for me.
I shoot he 1645fps win. expert 3.5 bb at everything outta my trusty Mossberg utilimag, if I try 2's for ducks I cant hit 'em for nothin.
Kent Fasteel #1 in 3" for everything
