I can't remember the last time I goose hunted with snow on the ground here in Iowa. Season always closes before it snows, like this year again, would be nice to have a longer season
A dropping barometric pressure is always a good time to hunt whether approaching rain or snow. Anytime preceding a big storm is Great. In a heavy snow they'll usually sit tight due to low visibility, but when it stops be ready!.
Hunting when the fronts come through is always a great idea. They tend to fly more to pack on the food before the weather hits. Once it clears, the geese fly well to replenish their food stores. Weather makes the differance.
