number of decoys

I use about 30-50 good decoys (no rags) all year round. I have half a dozen fullbodies (GHG), 2 dozen shells (all on motion stakes(GHG)), and a dozen silos (real geese) that are flocked. I also have 11 super mag shells, but I am thinking of selling them because they are a pain to haul around.

I use about 1 and 1/2 dozen and I'm doing OK. Your not going to bring in a huge flock with them but if you have 4 or 5 come around, I don't think your going to have an issue. I've had luck with 3 deeks out. So I think it's in what the birds want. Your looking for the smaller groups anyway. You don't teach a bunch of them all at once. Good luck!!

The most I used this year was about 3 doz.

At the end of the season we were using 6doz full bodies and 7doz shells. At the other end of our 100 acre field we had 250 full bodies and we didn't hurt each other. The birds in our area sit in large groups it is not uncommon to see 2000 or more in one field.
