Lets talk chokes...

Just to those that frequent other sites...I am not trying to bug the hell out of you...rather, I am trying to get the most people I can to answer this.

Looking for chokes for shooting ducks at a maximum distance of 35 yards. I have read good about Briley...but was wondering what everyone else here shoots.

The guns are all 12 gauge.

One is a browning...model, I do not know, I will have to ask my brother.
Mine is a 1187
My dad's is a Beretta A303, I do believe.

At ducks we are shooting Kent #2's typically...sometimes 4's, depending what they have.

Looking for the best choke given that criteria.

Now...for geese, we are now shooting snow geese up here in Sacramento, and will shoot these at 60 yards. What is the best all around choke for this. Shot size is BB and # 2 Hevi Shot reloaded HOT.

Again, what is the best all around choke? I am leaning towards the Drake Killer's because I have read nothing but good about these...or that some people have switched from a patternmaster and prefer these chokes to the patternmaster.

What says y'all?

Thanks much!!

One word: TERROR. I have heard great things about them. I don't have one, but I plan to get one this summer.
If I was willing to carry around extra tubes, I'd also go with the Terror's. But if you want one allround choke tube, check out the Titan by Truglo

I've talked to a few hunters that have them and they are very impressed with them. I'll be getting one for my new gun.
I have a pm but have been looking at maybe a terror but I am curious if anybody had done any testing between the 2 to see which is better. I have heard the terror were more designed for high velocity loads.

I heard the terror was good with hevi also.
I use pattern master with my Benili M1 on ducks & dark geese, luv it. Haven't found any reason to switch. I don't shoot heavy shot, and don't have to make excuses to my hunting buddies that do.

I use terror choke on my BPS for snow goose. Great for 'reaching out' and knocking the white out of the sky. Very tight pattern inside 30 yds.
Yeah, I've got a patternmaster in my girlfriends Extrema and a .655 Terror in mine. As for on paper, my tube is about twice as tight patterning, but then again, she hit every goose she shot it with the patternmaster this fall. I wouldn't trade the terror for another, but that's my opinion.
I have a 675 and a 700 terror, and IC and IM Briley on top of the factory chokes for my Browning Gold 12ga. At a max. of 35 yards, I would probably just stick with the factory chokes, but if you had to get an aftermarket, I would go with the 700 Terror, IC or LM Brileys. The Terror is probably about the same as the LM Briley, if not a touch tighter. I plan on getting a patternmaster to check out, but can't decide to get it for my Gold, my Nova or my BPS 10.
