Illinois Goose Hunting

Illinois goose hunting action has been pretty good, although I still feel the numbers are down from years past. A lot of pressure and the birds are wising up fast.

Hunting has been extremely cold lately, and the birds are acting real goofy. I'm looking forward to warmer temps this weekend.
We need a split season so we can get them coming and going, it will ease up on the pressure and make the hunting better for everyone!
I hunt Coyotes also so Goose hunting is usually easier as far as results not to say it isn't a challange. The hardest thing to hunt would be a Turkey if it had a good sense of smell you could never get close because it hearing and eye sight are better than anyother bird or animal for that matter. if hunting were easy why would you want to hunt you would be bored of it in no time. Keep going and enjoy your sport.

Is anyone shooting many geese around the state?
You live around the braidwood cooling pond you should be!
You're right... but I just transferred to SIUC so I'm still waiting for the season to open down here. Can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving and Christmas break though.
