I'm fairly new to this, and plan on hunting mostly corn fields with a lay down blind. I have not made any big investments on decoys yet, so whats a good number to start out with and what type, full body, shells, etc? Somebody told me at least 6-dozen of mostly full bodies that does that sound right? I have a really limeted budget since my job went to mexico.

Bigfoots are the way to go. We flocked our bigfoots heads and they look awesome. When I started goose hunting, i only used 1-2 dozen cause that was all that would fit in my decoy bag. I killed geese. Alot of it has to do with hunting pressure, time during the season, and whether the geese want to be there. Early you could get by with few dekes. Later sometimes few is good and sometimes you just need a whole bunch. We hunt with 1 g&h Standard shells, 1/2 G&H Supermag, 1 dozen herters shells, and 8 bigfoots. This is a tricky subject, so you can just use your best judgment.
