With the early season only a few weeks away for many of us I thought it would be good to get a forum on everyones strategies for setting up there deks.

Do you set in J, a U, a bunch of small families, Where do you position your layout blind? Do you use less deks early in teh nuisance season or bring out all of them?

How about water do you make a V?

Great Idea for a post.

I have had success with both the "J" and the "U" but when making the "U" I tend to widen it out on the ends, Which ends up looking more like a big grin shaped "U" Like a smiley face. We position ourselves either at the top of the "U" Or on the shorter side of the "J" depending on the wind and where we expect the birds to come from.

Im definately not an expert on the subject. Still learning more and more each year through trial and error. One thing I have learned for sure is dont be afarid to try something a little different. We dont have a large population of birds here and the residents we do have get educated quickly. You need to be flexible to kill them consistently.

the one thing i would make sure is that you always put them in small family groups of about 5 or so it helps
