I have used kites for Snows before. They are great attractors. Ever notice a big flock of snows on the ground? There is almost always some in the air above the flock. And with all that movement the incoming flocks key right in on it. Flags on a pole is a must in my opinion for both Snows and Canadas.

I used two this year and once I figured out the right way to rig them they worked very well. I used Killer Kites. They are cheap but do not hold up too well and tend to spin a lot. I think from speaking with others the JackKites are very good. I will have a jack kite next year. Also I made a pole from PVC and bought one. They both work fine but the bought one is a lot easier. I made the pvc one in 3 sections that eye bolt together and it is kind of a pain. You should have at least a 12 ft pole.

Could you guys explain in more detail how you use the flags on a pole for canadas? I use the hand flag abd it seems to work well. How should you use and rig teh flag pole differently? Where do you place it in the decoys?
I bought the Higdon flapper that is pretty cool. Does anyone have any one suggestions on how to use that more effectively?
