If you do decide to go with the Herter's, buy they extra feeder heads, a DZ Herter's full bodies (# 499) comes with 6 sentry and 6 feeders. any birds that are checking out your spread will be looking to see what the attitude of the flock on the ground is, content, nervous etc. too many heads up means somethings up.
I personally like to put one sentry to every 24 - 36 decoys the rest are feeders and a few resting.
I took the plunge this year with Big Foot's and I am hooked on thier realism, quality and durabilty, also when the ground froze I didn't have to contend with stakes. My decoy budget is small and I picked up 6 BF this season and what a difference it has made with the pulling power of my existing spread. I place them on the downwind edge of the spread and I have had the birds almost always set into the full bodies I plan on another 12 this spring for next season. Good luck and welcome to the site.
