Anybody out there hunting in Central or Eastern WA? I've been hunting around the Moses Lake area for about 10 years. Just wondering what kind of luck all you other WA goosers are having. Got any pictures? I'll post mine after this coming weekend...

Went out Saturday, got there too late and other hunter's set up where we were going to.. This is about 1 mile N of Sprague Lake. We drove a couple of miles NE of there and we were too far north. Oh well. Ton's of shooting to the South of us around the lake. Sunday I went out with my son and hunted over a small pond after church. Got 3 bluewing teal. Hope to do better on the 23rd. Good Hunting.

I hunted SW of Moses Lake on Saturday. My brothers and I set up 2 dozen GHG dekes, and 6 GHG high lookers in a disked corn field. We got three groups to look and commit but only took one lesser.
On Sunday I hunted w/ Ben Holten of North Flight Waterfowl. We set up in a wheat field just across from sprague lake. The morning was slow but he called in three groups and we took 4 canadas, 2 lessers, and 2 10# greaters! :D
I had a great time, and a personal best, 3 geese in one weekend.

On the 23rd we had 5 passing shots at geese. That morning we had a couple thousand geese land in the opposite end of an alfalfa field. That same night is when the geese wouldn't leave the decoys as we went to pick them up. Sadly I havn't got my eye down yet, eventually i'll get my lead down and bag more birds. Both my brothers got a lesser goose. I need new batteries for my digi cam then i can post some pics. Good luck this season.

Been hunting ducks on potholes N or Sprague. They are pretty scarce. Got 6 over last weekend. My eye isn't very good yet, they sneak in and I can't hit them very well yet. Still early yet. It is supposed to rain this weekend. Should do better. I got out and set up last weekend about 1/2 hour too late. Ouch. Saw two large flocks of geese heading SW at dusk from Medical Lake area. Where were they going? Sprague? Good hunting.

We had a pretty good weekend :D Saturday morning we had geese land in the GHG's three different times. My brothers and I were hiding in wheel wells with alfalfa covering us, definitly ordering a blind this week. Today the geese were nowhere to be found so we hunted pheasants, I got a shot and missed  , also missed a quail

where abouts did u bag those birds? Last week i had 3 flocks of 15 plus circle my set, they seemed interested, but there just wasnt enough to pull them down, and two weeks before there was a 150 birds using the field. I always find that later in the season the resident geese become more or less field friendly and spend most of there time on the lakes than they do earlier in the season. anyways good huntin'

Sorry for the delay
I've been on a car forum for the summer, and now it's back to business 8)
Those geese were taken by Royal Lake Refuge.

C-Dubb...
Nice picture, good job.

This early season goose hunt was successful. My brother set up his Finisher blind and my power hunter in a disked wheat field. We took two geese one was 10lbs and the other 11lbs. I didn't take pics with my digi, maybe I can scan them. I'll have to put up some pics after the next hunting trip in the second week of November....Good Luck guys.
