I was watching a hunting show where three guys came out of the blind to down some waterfoul; the first thing I noticed was the all black guns in the hands of these guys clad with camo coats and all. The blind was all brushed in and well hidden, but those guns really stuck out! If you are going through all that effort of concealing everything but not guns, what gives? Is it that important?

It Shouldn't really matter too much, your gun is usually inside the blind until you shoot anyway. Most of the guys i hunt with shoot Black/synthetic SBE's with white stickers all over the stock, like will goose hunt for food

The color may not matter. Camo'd vs. Black. But the high gloss finish could be a problem if you don't keep it in the blind. Why go through the effort to stay totally hidden and then hold up a mirror?

My waterfowl gun used to be an 870 Wingmaster. It was high gloss with wood stalks and many ducks, geese, and turkeys were killed with the trusty 870.
