I use a TG Super Mag, Keat's VooDoo and a Heartland X-Out.

I tend to use them all, and they're all good in their own way. If you're getting into short reeds try the medium price range calls like the Heartland Delrin, Foiles MeatGrinder (not a big fan of Foiles, but it's a decent call), or the Tim Grounds HalfBreed (toughest of the 3 to blow IMO).

After you get the hang of it than pull out the wallet for a high end.

It's more in the tuning than anything else, the best thing you could do is get with someone that can tune your call to fit you,I use a Foiles smh in contests but i usually use a Foiles meat grinder hunting i have blown them both in contests and in the field. There are a lot of good calls on the market. So the best call for you is one you like and is tuned for you , Although some calls are better than others, it's more about having it tuned to you.

I use Tim Grounds calls. On my string, I got a 007(2) and a maple supermag. All three calls produce what I think the most realistic canada goose sound through a call. they are easy to operate and easy to get. tim and his mon, Juda are the greatest in customer service. The calls are built strong. In other words, they don't fall apart. I have been using Grounds calls since 1987 when I purchased a half-breed from tim at the Easton MD show. From there, I was hooked. I'll be honest, in that time frame, I tried a lot of other calls out of curiosity, but found none that compare to Tims. There is a maker here in MD who makes a good call. He is John Taylor. Hes located down on the eastern shore. Good guy, good call. Go with a Grounds, you won't be disappointed.

:D Thanks to all who have responded. I have landed on a call that works very well for me here in Alberta. Since I bought the Faulks HFC-19 Flute Goose Call I have been on 4 excellent hunts. So far dead bird. Works all the way to the freezer.
Thanks again.

I use the GK Giant Slayer! It is an exceptional call that has the high's to low's and is very fast. A great goose call!
