I have some buddies that leasea pit onn the corner of 52 and 95. Used to be Adam Deadmarshes lease from the Avs until he got traded to the left coast.

Well, I wa out this past weekend on the lake hunting ducks and geese, Yes that's right geese. Got 4 mallards and 4 geese in a couple of hours. Not to bad. Had some more geese look at us but they didn't seem interested. The locked up and then went wide and the last minute. Don't know what they didn't like.

I hunt on a lake at the corner of Hwy 66 and I-25. It's on the north side of 66 and the west side of I-25. South of Mead. There is another smaller lake just north of us that is holding hundreds. It's private though and no hunting is allowed. Go figure.

I hunt up by Windsor on occasion during the weekdays and no its not Bruce's but can be just as bad at times. We leased a pond out of brighton this year. We've all taken about 60 birds so far. Lately it been slow as molases. Waiting on the big greens to appear.

We hunt ducks at the pond and it looks like it may be good for geese this year. Hard to tell yet. Yeah, we hunt the geese mainly up by windsor. It depends on the weather and if its a weekday hunt. Sometimes we do well but man, those geese are for the most part shell shocked and can be hard to decoy in. Gotta go finish my lunch. Talk to you soon.

Well good luck around windsor this year. I'm in Ft. Collins about two - three times a week and it looks like there have been some new geese that have arrived within the past week because numbers are starting to increase. Hopefully it will be a good opener. Good luck.

That's good. Man, I was worried because not many birds are in the area and its pretty late to not be seeing the groups of geese like we did last year at this time. I've been seeing more geese flying lately around the pond and it looks to be a good opener but probably will be better later in the season. Talk to you soon.

Hey guys, I'm out of Broomfield. Just moved here last year from Nebraska and and trying to get out as much as possible. Planning on going the first week in Dec for sure. Might try Evans or Wellington. Never been up to Wellington but heard it's some nice habitat up there. Still trying to find spots to hunt. Hit Eliott SWA couple of weeks ago and hunted union cause some guy left early that had a resv. Any other good spots to hit? I would like to hunt private but am limited to public due to the fact I dont know anyone yet. I am going back home for turkey day and plan on hitting the North Platte outside of Colombus Ne and get some ducks and geese.

Fred,
I must say this was one of the worst openers I have every hunted. It was absolutly horrible for us and everyoen that I have talked too. We saw 4 geese all day. That's right 4 dam geese. That's it. Never even shot one. Got a few ducks but that was it. A buddy of mine was just east of Ft. Collins and he didn't even get any. He say more that I did but never fired a shot. The snow really screwed them up. I don't know if they moved out when the stormed rolled in or what. I was on water and he was in a fresh cut corn feild which should have been an absolute magnet with that weather but it wan't.

jefe,
Welcome to CO. I know what you mean about trying to find places to go. All I can tell you is to get on the net and check out the CDW page and look for those state wildlife areas. I have hunted some of them and had some great days and some not so good day too. That's just the nature of the game. If you get a chance to hunt up around wellington I would do it. There are usually tons and tons of geese that like that area. Especially around the Bud plant. For some reason the geese like the beer. :D Are you talking about union res. just east of longmont? If so, how did you get permision to hunt there? Just curious because I hunt just north of there. Good luck.

Bummer Al. looks like lots of birds started coming in. Damn thing is not one of these early season birds have committed yet. Had a bunch circle. I actually did have 2 land come to think of it but passed hoping we'd sucker the remaining geese. They wouldn't cooperate and the 2 geese split. I' m planning on hitting windsor soon. Good luck this weekend.

Well Fred,
another dissapointing after of goose hunting. Went out on Friday afternoon and we never even saw a goose. Nothin. There wasn't anything in the air or in the fields. It was just a dispressing hunt to say the least. Hopefully we'll get some more being pussed down but I don't know what the weather is like up North.

I tried to get into CWA but I was told that there weren't any more openings this year. Maybe next year.

The ducks are only a few days away. Can't wait. And for all you lucky folks like my self the early goose season is approaching just as fast.
