Depends on where you live. Lately here in South Dakota the geese haven't been coming to the water until the afternoon. They have been feeding all night and moving to the Missouri river in the early to mid afternoon.
Afternoon hunting
I have some corn fields and some land along the river. Should i hunt the river or the cornfield in the afternoon?

i live along the north platte river in western nebraka most of the time they get off river in the morning and go to the fields all day until about sundown
