I've just started hunting geese the last few years and i'm hooked
i've got 250 wind socks (200 snow & 50 blue) 6 shell specks
already this year, geese flaring on spread real bad. i know i need snow
shells or full bodies but they are so damn expensive. any suggestions
or ideas would be appreciated.

Maybe they are seeing your movment VS flaring the decoys. Concealment is far more important than the type of decoys you are using from my experince. Buit again if you have shiny socks or have not set them out right that could be the culprit too. Calling is another important part--especially for snows--they are noisy, it is very hard to duplicate their sound. About 100 decoys per caller is max to effectively sound right. That is why in the spring guys use multuple ecallers in their huge (1000+) spreads. And of course there is the who smart they are. Remember it is easy for them to see over 1000 decoy spreads in the 1 year alone, and many birds have thus seen +10,000 spreads, and some wonder why they are so wary???

ive heard of people using 5 gallon buckets by cutting them in half and mimicing them from a shell also bye some texas rags they are 50 bucks for 100 snows and the same for 50 blues. If you have any canada decoys but a sock over there heads to make them look identical to blue geese
