All my field hunting experience for geese has been, either out of layouts, hedge row or pits . Otter make a portable haybale goose blind. Do they work? Our fields here do not have bales in the field most of the season. ( corn, beans or winter wheat) It's my thinking that the goose that feeds the field yesterday will see it as something new on the day we hunt. Your thoughts and experiences please :welcome:
I'd like to give it a try. Be nice to stand and shoot for a change. Always wanted to try to sneak a flock with a cardboard cow silo. Just for the hell of it. I don't think a goose knows how many legs a cow has.
Ive used these type of blinds when the number of hunters outnumber layouts, but we used them on reservoirs when the water level is low and geese are feeding in mud flats where there is no cover. just mudded it up and when we got set up touched it up a bit. seems to work for us
If you have lots of pocket bush in your area willow blinds work well.
