My buddies here in Mi are going down to Bama for their annual Deer hunt tomorrow and they asked me to go along.
They are on 2500 private acres of land and staying in the bunk houses at the farm. The trouble for me is I've got both my girls getting marries this coming summer so the money is tight.
Yes I like to deer hunt but I'm more interested in the potential waterfowl oppertunities. I had them check with the owners to see if I could join the guys next season but I want to concentrate on ducks/geese and besides that hunt should be cheaper for me. They have a lot of pot holes and such. I would be hunting on my own and maybe a few locals so I need to take all my own stuff.
My qusetion is, first is the season open this time of year and what types of birds could I expect? I like to trophy hunt for my waterfowl, by that I mean I want to put one of each species on my wall. Here in Mi, I've got about all the birds that I can get. I'm looking for other types that are in good colors.
I am retired, and would like to book a waterfowl hunt with a reputable guide service anywhere in Ala. Any out fit anyone can suggest, would be greatly appreciated,,,,I am near Savannah. Ga,
Used to be some guides down near Eufala that did some waterfowl work. Check in at Fishworld, the local hangout for fisherman and hunters. :welcome:
Goose hunting is really fun sport. For, probably a 12 gauge shotgun will do a good job in goose hunting, but you are definitely going to need "goose loads" larger short and long range.   :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:
