Which Decoys do You Prefer?

Postby buckshot5792 » Sat Aug 29, 2009 10:28 pm

Alright everyone is entitled to an opinion, so let's see what we all like. This may also help newcomers pick their decoys.

You don't have to be youth to participate, anyone's thoughts are welcome.

I like Bigfoot, or Higdon which is almost like Bigfoot. Almost unbreakable.

Heard some good about the dakotas, but my first goose hunt was over GHG and I'm hooked now.

Ghg all the way love there FFD when it gets snowy out the flocking on them melts the snow i got some just with flocked head and i keep them in the trailer when it starts to snow. They cost a lil more but there a great decoy for any hunt.
It isnt about the money the stuff you got all that really matters is the love of hunting waterfowl

After using my decoys for a season, I am very disappointed in my Bigfoots. The flocking started falling off after 2-3 hunts, and the paint looks realy bad. I think my bags are rubbing it off. Clinton Decoy Co. replaced the heads, but I didn't say anything about the paint then, but it is getting really bad

To me the GHG's are the best decoy(for the money) that you can use. I know there are better looking coys on the market(DSD) but you can build a decent inventory with the GHG's without going broke.

Dave Smith decoys look awesome but I had to go with Dakota just because they you don't have to pay an absurd price for 4. By the way dakota's look SWEET.

Redhead are junk :lame:
New out of the box looks like your trying to have a fashion shoot with them.
Shinny and not even looking like a real bird.
Greenhead gear is what I go with and the motion ffd are nice.
Alos the new big foots I have a hard time picking those out of a real flock that lands in my spread

I was gonna use all Dakota's but I think it's either gonna be 8 dozen of the new DSD A.C.E honkers or 8 doz Bigfoot original's.
