The conclusion is the same as everytime this issue comes up.............everybody has killed geese over the decoys they use, everybody has had issues with "another decoy" I would ask the question this way. ****Please list what are the most important aspects of a decoy to YOU and which one meets your #1 #2 #3 aspects****. I do not bash decoys I have never used, but recommend ones that work for me.

#1 Toughness (I am terrible at "being carful"with mystuff) BIGFOOTS
#2 Look good to birds (not me, I don't count) BIGFOOTS
#3 Several poses (big bull, little bull, feeder, sentry, upright, rester, semi-active, two shells BIGFOOTS
#4 easy to set up (not bigfoot) ONE PIECE SHELLS
#5 easy storage (not bigfoot) STACKABLE SHELLS
#6 movement (not bigfoot) ? fullbody on stakes
#7 price this is low on the list because buying cheap and having to replace seems stupid to me.

Have used BIGFOOTS for over 25 years I can not see me switching because they meet my needs.

GHG cause I dont have the funds to buy a trailer to haul 10 doz Foots. Set up is pain after a good night drinking and a pain when you have to set up 15 doz GHGs between 3 people. Gets very annoying and I cry every time when we dont shoot geese. Motion wise, good, but not neccessary. Realism is up there, but nothing compares to DSDs. Durability, FFDs stink, Progrades are better. In the end decoys are decoys, not one brand is going to bring them in better when running traffic.

I agree- buy Big Foots or G&H- nada great about them- lots of folks now carry them almost exclusive- must be good kick backs?

One thing I have noticed is that a lot of guys seem to be perfectionists. They can't stand to have a single scratch or chip on their decoys and are convinced that the decoys have to look perfect to work...........That's a crock......... While geese have good vision it's not "that" good. They are not seeing a dime size paint chip on a decoy at 40 yards away. That said, most decoys even with a considerable amount of wear are gonna pull birds. You can make all the claims you want that one decoy pulls birds better than the next but it's all subjective. Every season and even every day of hunting is different. There are way to many variable to document such a claim. Which decoy to buy is a compromise. They all have their good and bad point. I have some 30 year old shells that seem to have better paint on them than some of the new fullbodies. It makes you wonder how in this day and age that they still don't seem to be any more advanced in that department than they are. The bottom line is any decoy you are confident in is going to work. It just depends on how much you want to invest in time and money. Another consideration is K.I.S.S. Most of the time simple is best.

For what is is worth I don't see the new Avian X decoys lasting long. They ignored K.I.S.S. and already have too many problems......

dakotashooter2 said it best.

DSD's, Dakota's, GHG's, Bigfoots, AvianX's, it really doesn't matter if your hide isn't good and you are not where they want to be.
Walleyes and Waterfowl, what else is there?

Gotta go with dakotashooter2-my Big Foots ,some flocked, get thrown into truck and out- kept ok but not babied- and they seem to work just fine-I think it's more about head style & placment, deke spread set up, and hide, than clean new looking dekes.
