I need ideas for avian x decoys

Postby hangingeese » Wed Jul 01, 2015 7:10 am

Have a new spread of avian x and I'm trying to think of how to haul them in the trailer without bagging them if possible. Does anyone have a setup like this. Or have any ideas.

I hung my decoys with picture hangers. I grabbed the 100lb hangers due to the size of the actual hanger.

I am in the same boat, I have 5 dozen of them along with a new trailer and have no idea how I am gonna hang them in the trailer. Right now I just have them all bagged.

Been thinking about this for 6 months! Originally had them in bags on the floor.. then i mounted rails to the walls to hang them individually.... now i'm back to bags, but i hang them.

What kind of hooks did you use? Also did you just use self tapping screws to hold the hooks onto the stud of the wall?

Think when you hit a bump in the road or field they'd come off the hooks.

Bigfoots and Higdons that don't use a metal base do not like to be hung by feet/legs. Either the feet fall off, or the legs will warp this summer when it gets hot in your trailer.

I often wonder if people realize how much stuff hung in a trailer moves, and the higher you get the more it moves. Especially when you are driving across a cultivated fields and rut filled dirt roads. In the picture shown I can almost guarantee the lower end of the bases are moving AT LEAST 3-4" off the wall when driving across a field unless they are secured..
DOG.... GOD spelled backwards.....Coincidence?... I think not.....
