UV REFLECTIVE PAINT

Postby BARTOREG » Sun Jan 15, 2012 12:02 am

I bought Bird Vision UV Reflective white paint ($26 a quart) to do the cheek patches an backside of my BFs. I know its late season, but since doing this a couple of weeks ago, the birds are looking but not working at all. Has anyone used this type of paint? Any suggestions?

I bet it has nothing to do with the paint. Late season birds are tough.

I have to agree with Lonegoose. I don't think the UV paint has anything to do with it. I have used the UV paint, and have not experienced any negative affects. On the other hand, I don't know I've seen any positive effects either, not enough to justify the cost of the paint. Plus, the white paint that I used didn't cover ANYTHING very well and needed multiple coats. Like Lonegoose said, late season birds are TOUGH!!

I think even tough might be an understatement.

This year the definition of "tough" should be changed to non-existant...

X5

try getting some motion in your spread, flags are good, something like the wing waver General is better, I used my home made one Friday and had birds commit early, I couldn't go Saturday but my buddy used it, and got three Flocks to commit easily.

We are running my decoy, one silo wingwaver and flags it makes a HUGE difference (along with 36 bigfoot fullbodies and 48 Bigfoot shells)

Good luck

Oh, and no "UV paint" on our decoys, I'm not sold on that yet, but we will see in the future

goosechaser did you paint those wings on your "general"? I did when I had mine. I dulled my wings and added some brown. I actually have a set of wings that I painted if you want them n/c. I have no use for it.

goosechaser125- That's a pretty slick decoy. I'd like to make myself something similar this off season. What did you use to make the wings?

the wings are from a Wingwaver silodecoy that I installed on to a BIGFOOT Bull, I run all Bigfoots, so I wanted one that would match. Wingwaver sells a fulbody they call the General, I am not sure if they still offer the silo version.
