the trailer is a utility trailer that i bought at tractor supply. i then found a heavy duty 5500# axle and put it under the trailer. then i cut off the metal guard that goes all the way around on those types of trailers. then i went and bought 2x6's and bolted those to the main floor of the trailer. then from there i just wall studed everything with 2x4's like you would with a house. then after that i covered everything in 7/16'' osb and for a final outside covering i put tin on the outside. since taking the picture i have finished the inside of the trailer. so it is finally complete. i have room for probably 5 more dozen bf's but i think i will stop with what i have because with the remaining space i can put a 4 wheeler in the back. overall cost was right around $2300. which is about a grand cheaper if i were to buy a feather-lite trailer.

Looks like a nice setup, pretty shiny. We just tried to repair a small 4 horse trailer, I still want to rihno line the inside floor and part way up the walls.

how much did all the lumber and tin cost you to do the trailer?? just wondering cause i am in a similar situation. I have a flat trailer that i ripped apart to nothing but the metal frame and was thinking about doing what you had done if it is reasonably cheap. please pm me. Thanks.

I'm doing one now. The tin is around $57 per 2'x50' roll. It will take around 5-6 rolls depending on size of trailer. Mine is 6 1/2 x 10. The wood isn't bad, I got the old camper for free and scraped the alum. siding and salvaged the interior lights for dome lights. A couple gallons of paint, brushes etc and I'm rolling. I think I will use house type closet shelving to reduce weight. I hope to have less than $350 in it. I am only tinning the roof. Paint on the sides

I just checked my receipts and I had $650 in materials. Still about $3K cheaper than buying an enclosed trailer from downtown.

I just used the same stuff for the roof as I did the sides only I overlapped the edges and then put water resistant caulking on the seams. I can't take any pictures till spring because my trailer is burried in snow.
