Pintail Mount is Ready!

Postby apollo11 » Tue Oct 04, 2011 10:21 pm

Todd Huffman over at Birdman Studios did a mount out of a Pintail I shot last season. The right wing is a little shot up, but the bird looks stunning. Turn around time was about 8 months.

When that first Pintail falls under the bead of my gun, that is exactly how I want to mount that bird. Awesome mount man!

Thanks a lot you all. These mounts blow my other birds away! Todd does great work, and is a great guy to talk with. He takes a lot of pride in the birds he sends out, the attention to detail is amazing.

One more mount from Todd:

I shot my first drake pintail this morning. It doesn't have nearly as big of a tail as yours though, it's still going on the wall though. It's the sentimental value for me.

Congrats on the Pin! Pintails as big as these two are super rare here in Colorado. However, the drake Pintail---of any size---was on my mount in any case list.

Mounts are more about the story, than the size for me.

Birds can look great in a studio with perfect light and backdrop, so I thought I'd post some pics with the bird at home on the wall.

Beautiful bird! Love a sprig in the jump pose. We're in pintail alley and been meanin' to have one done the last few years. Believe it's time!

I finally got my pintail last month. I got it donE in N. LITTLEROCK. I have researched birdman studios. He does great work. But I'm pleased with what chipmunk did. I added the habitat.
