Opportinities for the young guns...

Postby cut_un » Sun Mar 06, 2011 1:00 pm

Guys, what are you guys doing to get your fix. I know, some like myself had a family member that allowed me to tag along and show me the ropes. I was lucky enough to have a dad that would include me in his adventures.
When I can along though, I did not have all the Org.youth hunts, youth calling contest/clinics you guys have available today. Some of the call & decoy companies even have youth staffer position available. Our hunt club,& state org. offers a day set aside for the kids, our Va.sitehere on GHC even holds hunting workshops with the youth and new hunters in mind.

Are you guys taking advantage of the opportinities and what else would help your cause........ any ideas or thoughts

Brother, it's all about marketing yourself....If it;s something you'd be interested in,I'd check out the sites and write em.. Tell the all about yourself and where you are in your waterfowling adventures. Most companies, realize you guys are the future of the sport.I'd think most would be willing to listen to what you have to say. Granted, it's not all about testing products, it also about giving back to the sport and your community. Try, Drake, Duck Junkies, Avery, Dakota, anybody else you can think of... Buck Gardner is big on our youth!

Would also advise you to contact Duck Junkies, we have a pretty good program in place, you can sign on as a youth/Field or Pro staff, and go from there. We actually have a youth mentoring program, inwhich you would be paired up with local pro-staffer or Field Staffers in your area. This will not only give you indepth insite into the sport, but also an opportinity to work with professionals on all the basics, from callingto ,huntingYou will also have the opportinity to help at shows, youth hunts and working the booths at the shows...Just saying! Good luck and keep after it! If I can be of any help...let me know, will do what I can!
