When setting out your spread and you have a couple different brands ( Dakota painted and GHG FFD). How would you place them, would you place them separately of mix them through. I was thinking Id mix them through.
Its a total of 100 decoys 72 GHG and 28 Dakotas
How would you do it.?

If it was me I would set the Dakotas in the hole and put the GHG's upwind. Leave some holes in the GHG set for Geese to pull to.
Good Luck,

Mix them or seperate them. Either one will work. Geese are different colors and different sizes. You should have any issues. Both of those decoys are pretty dark and do not have a lot of glare. So in my opinion it doesn't matter.

Most of the Dakotas are feeders, and the GHG are approx 50/50 feeders and actives with a few( 4 lookers ).
I just picked up the dakotas. (they were on sale) but I wanted to have a few decoys that are quick to move around as required, within the spread.

I mix FB's -shells and silos --each gives incoming birds a different look- silos turned this way and that look like birds are moving.I use quite a few alert dekes-always on outsides of spread and just a few inside-early i use small groups and later bigger ones.jest me 2 cents.

just mix them, I mix a few different brands into my spread.
and I always try to keep a few high lookers to the outside of the spread, just like you would see real geese do while other geese in the middle of the flock feed and sleep.

Like the 2 on the far right "walking" in to feed with the others. This is the spread we ran last weekend. Nothing flew but it was nice to spend some time in the field.
Luckily I keep my feathers numbered for such and occasion.

We mix all of our decoys together and it works good for us.
