I have a mag 10 too, Sweet guns . I would think your best bet price wise and speed would be to have screw in choke system added by like ,colonialarms.com or carlson.com or briley.com ,That would be my anwser if my 10 had not come with factory screw ins. Start with colonialarms.com best deal I know of . Good luck.

Why don't you contact Briley Manufacturing in Houston, Texas and let them install a "Screw In Choke System" on your gun...either flush or extended. Their contact info is:

Briley Manufacturing, Inc.
1230 Lumpkin Road
Houston, Texas 77043
713-932-6995

They are used to working with Waterfowlers and their shotguns...they are in Houston located centrally to the Texas Coast and East Texas...right in the middle of the Central Flyway.
If you got the money to spend on a new barrel, why not pay to get a "Screw In Choke System" installed for the same price and that way you can change out chokes at a moments notice and adapt to different shooting conditions depending on what the birds are doing and the weather you are hunting in. Just a thought.
Blessings,
Joe

you can also retrofit a newer sp10 remington barrel on your ithaca magten.. although the magten roto-forged barrel is stout enough for most factory anemic loads.. an upgraded remington barrel with screw-in chokes might be the way to go.. although it would not be cheap ..last time I checked, an extra barrel w screw-in chokes, from the rem. factory is about $400.. a good gunsmith screw-in choke job.. about half that much...if you have your barrel cut down from its present length, you will gain about 100 f.p.s muzzle velocity for every inch of barrel that you have cut off... a good length of barrel for all around hunting would be 28 inches.. however if your style is a lot of layout blind hunting, then I would say a shorter barrel would work, around 26-27 inches would be a better fit...
here they come mike,, cupped and bow'ed up get ready
