Had a blast this year, folowing are some pictures, I have shared some in the past but here's a partial view of the season.

(Tried hunting this last Saturday 1/28/12 (season closed as of 1/30/12) but after setting up 170 decoys the wind a snow made it impossible to hunt, left the decoys covered in snow, knowing I would be back after church on Sunday to pick them up, and ... on the way to church I drive by the field as a flock of about thirty are 10 feet over the pit and spread. So, had birds up to the end but just couldn't be there for them. Can't wait until 9/1/12

Nope, hunted a total of 6 fields, three I used layout blind, two have pits, and one I hid in the brush next to it!

It was early in the season, first hunt in that field, so the birds didn't know any better yet, after killing those three birds we got pinned down by over 400 geese in that field. The just started coming in waves so we just tucked in and let them land, we spent 45 minutes in the hole waiting for them to leave. There was one bird so close to the pit we could hear it eating.
