In some ways, you guys are lucky.

As I bring this up, I realize..in some ways the old world is not what it used to be, BUT, I'm talking sporting life here. Being Older than dirt, I think back when we did not have the numbers of turkeys running around and even before that "when their was NO spring tueky season. Now, we all can slip into the turkey woods across the country and enjoy the challenge on one of the best sports going. Also, when I was a kid, we just did not have the numbers of deer there are today. As they populated the states, we, the old timers had the mind set, if it's brown it's down. Deer managment was unheard of back then. Now, we, and that means, you guys too, have a great chance to kill a monster of a buck, age being the key, We all have deer walking around" our back yards " that would go on anyones wall in a heart beat.
Yes, guys, in some ways, this is to good old times, you/ we are living it

That's true cut. I remember in VA when the limit of deer per season was 4 now its 6 and their population seems to steadily be increasing. Same with other game animals.

I remember when it was two...and you had to work for them. On a negative note, I remember when we had plenty of birds( quail) raising in Va. I'd always wanted to train a birdf dog...but what's the use these days. :( And.... You, one day my friend will be able to tell your kids ....I remember when we did not have yotes in Va. Now, there's a switch :D

Yep. I remember when I was about 8 going into the woods to my stand alone without a care before light. Now every sound makes me look for bears and yotes. Was having a conversation this past monday with 2 brothers in their 50s and I was like "I'm a little afraid to go in the woods an hour before light but don't wanna be too late" and one told me "Anybody who goes into the woods before dark at all ain't scared cuz you ain't and never have seen me in the woods in the dark" he said call him whatever you want but he isn't gunna be seen in there before light. And then right many other people said the same thing. Made me feel a little more manly but after I got in the woods I got to thinkin "Maybe I'm not more manly but more stupid and decided to setup there and backup against a tree. :? Also yesterday a 7' tall 500 lbs black bear was spotted in one of my cousin and my favorite spots.

Also, I've taken note of the quail population rising in Brunswick Co. at least. We've seen a flock off and on at our farm in Brodnax and quite a few at our club. Good thing too. Every time we see some my grandpa says that sure brings back memories.
