I use the coles and love it. The price listed is a little high. Found a few on ebay for under $40. Good price for it I think.

Two calls that I use most fit in this group, My Favorite is the Sean Mann Eastern Shoreman Express and the second call hanging off my neck is a Big River Long Honker. The Express can be bought for around 50 bucks and the Long Honker for around 35. There are a lot of good calls out there, pick two and learn to master them. The reason I say two calls is that Im a firm believer in having a call for windy days and a call for calm days. A high pitch call works better than a low one on windy days as the sound cuts thru the air better. Save the low pitch call for those calm days
If youre there for the limit, youre there for the wrong reason

I have 4 calls on my lanyard. 3 are under 80 dollars. I have a sean mann eastern shoreman and a sean mann sweet talker. i like both of these calls but wen u switch too another brand of call for even a few minutes, they are hard to go back too because they are so different too blow. I have a buck gardner canada hammer and i can make it sound so real its crazy. for any begginer i would deff recomend the canada hammer and even more experienced callers can make every sound they need. callers need to remember that price doesnt mean anything. i have a 130 dollar get em locked up which requires aloooooot of air and next time im in the field i ll deff stick with the 20 dollar canada hammer

Just got the winglock longneck in walnut. seems like a good call but its my first wooden call so it blows different in my opinon. its kinda hard to keep a deep cluck out. it seems like the pitch of the call changes. but i ve had this happen with an acrylic call also so its probably the way i blow it. Its comfortable in my hands but smells like a lincoln log haha

Thats probably the stupidest thing i ve ever heard in my life. The internals of a call are the only thing that effects the sound of the call. the 60 dollar sweet talker and the 160 dollar sweet talker sound exactly the same they are just made of a diff material but the reed and guts are the same. You can find good calls for under 80 dollars especially for begininners

Nice! First post and you managed to come accross sounding like a complete tool! That post was a joke I gotta tell ya. I have one call on my lanyard that goes over $100 and you know which call has killed more geese for me in the last 4 years? A $40 Walnut Winglock Longneck. Not because its easy to run or cheap, but because it flat sounds like a goose. Don't need comp speed to kill birds. You need quality sound and that call gets an A+ there. Now my go to call is a $60 Gen II GK Slayer and...I KNOW HOW TO RUN IT!! I don't care what call you own. If you can't run it, it isn't worth the powder to blow it to pieces. Get real dude. One of the BEST callers in the world said it best. "If you have a $200 call, and $2 hands, guess what?... You have a $2 call.

Most of my goose calls are under $80.00...all kill birds like any $200.00 call will.
They are meat calls, not for the comp circuit...

You don't HAVE to buy the call, but you don't HAVE to buy BigFoots or DSD's or FFD's or ProSeries II's either. You make a purchase because its what you WANT to do. I'll invest in higher quality materials because in my mind, over the long haul, I'll spend less getting what I want out of them. I must have bought ten cheapo poly calls before I finally invested in some acrylic. I was tired of spending 20 here, 40 there, 60 in some cases (sweet talker, shorty) and being pretty unsatisfied in the sound I was getting out of 'em. Most guys will have lots of success with calls that cost less than 80 bucks, as for me, most of the calls I prefer have a price tag in excess of 80. I've got a 175 dollar SuperThang (which I didn't pay for it, nor would I) that's my favorite call I've ever owned. I've also got a HalfBreed (50 bucks) that I really liked but it wasn't until I threw some TC guts (50 bucks) in it that it took over the second spot on my lanyard. My Polycarb was my number one call, but it cracked like I find most of my polycarbinate calls do. Maybe getting in and out of the pits and the moisture from calling is too much for them to handle. I understand everyone's desire to minimize the importance of dropping extra cash on a call, and the call is one of the least important pieces of equipment needed to kill geese, but if you're willing to drop an extra $100 bucks a dozen on BigFoots and run 5 or 8 dozen, why would spending an extra 30 or 40 bucks on a call be such a horrible thing????? Buy a call that WORKS for you, if it's a 25 dollar PC, great! If its a 200dollar Triple Crown, awesome! As long as you're happy with your purchase, it shouldn't matter how much it cost.
