"f" shot

Postby sekgoose » Thu Jan 26, 2012 9:23 am

Do any of you know where I can find a case or two of 12 gauge or 10 gauge "F" shot? I used to be able to buy it but its such a large sized shot, that a lot of places quit carrying it.

what are you plans for it?... i am sure you must know that it is banned for waterfowl hunting.. at least in my home state it is not legal... if you are using it for yotes or wolves.. now there would be a use for it.!.. other than that, you might check your local gun show circuit..that is where i would look...

not banned in all states...

Look on gunbroker.com, auctionarms, com, or ammoseek.com. Lots of federal classic F shot out there, but finding it for a decent price is another thing...

thanks t-chaser, I looked again at the regs for idaho.. can't use anything larger than t-shot,..0.20 inches in diameter(t-size) or smaller... I don't know which other states you can use "F" shot legally...As far as getting your hands on some... I saw in the ballistic products catalog, you can get it for $16.69 for a 10# bag... if you are a reloader...

Haven't seen any in years and I have looked. Maybe in bulk shot for reloading. I had a box of 10ga "F" that I could use in Ohio. I used it sparingly over time knowing it was going the way of the dinosaur. I have 2 rounds of Federal left that are now sitting on the shelf for posterity. I bought the box from a local hardware store that had it around from the early days of steel shot. I think I bought it in 97 and it was on the shelf a long time before that. Took care of the honkers though.........
