I know this question has been asked before but I want to see everyone's most updated answer and opinion......

First, Is whistle training you dog worth it and what is the best whistle to use.

Well my wish was granted on the 3 limit. Too bad the 2011-2012 season has been a bust due to the weather. o well I am already looking forward to next season.

Only 2 real good dog whistles, Roy Gonia and Acme Thunderer. Next best is a police issur traffic whistle. Nuff said! :goodtimes:

There's no trick at all to associating the whistle signals you want to known commands, just give the known command followed by the whistle signal, and after a while Pup will perform the command to whistle alone.

Lots of whistle choices, I've used Thunderers and Gonias more than anything else over the years, but now use a Fox 40 made "Sonic Blast" whistle that can be blown quietly or loud enough to hurt your ears if you don't cup your hands around it before hitting it hard. Carries remarkably well against hard wind and over splashing water.
