Yep, if it was a lesser that beak would be short, short, short. Just a smaller resident canada.
Ok, I am a little off here, most may know that the definitions of goose sub-species has changed considerably in the last decade, this bird is what use to be called a "lesser interior canada" now known as a Todd Goose, I believe. If you do a study you will find that "shorter beaks" , colorations and other markings are not always required in different subs. I am quite sure that this is an interior migratory "Todd Goose" I know it is not one of the currently called lessers like cacklers, ect. my bad for using "lesser" as the definitions have changed.
Either way I had a great time hunting that day and this bird was not small enough for me to want to get mounted.
