I shoot 15-20 pound birds all season long over cackler decoys.

Will lesser decoys finish BIG Canada honkers?... You be the judge. Btw, the smallest goose in either pick weighed at least 9 pounds, and the biggest almost 14.

I have noticed that the "big" decoys do offer more visibility in dark fields. If you are hunting corn, wheat stubble or something with a lighter background it doesn't make much difference. But in a freshly turned field the big ones do stand out better.

geese only have a 30% depth perception so you can put a lessor next to a honker and the geese wont be able to tell a diffrence.
and before anyone jumps down my neck about this. the came from scott threinen (maker of the goose and duck society, bad grammer, ect..) when i talked to gim at the MN gamefair.

Nobody is gonna jump down your throat on that one...at least not the guys that know anything about goose antomy that is. :stirpot: Geese only have "stereo vision" to the very front of there heads, but have a HUGE field of non stereo vision due to their eyes being placed high out on their heads...almost 360 degrees.
