i want to get some ducks mounted, but ive never had one done. what are the steps that i should do before i take it to the taxidermist. i was told to wrap them in nylon, then in newspaper. do the heads need to be tucked in a certain way??? im compleatly clueless, so i want to do things right so i can get a good mount. thanks guys.

Best advice coming from a bird taxidermist is get the large freezer bags, take the bird and tuck the head and neck under a wing. Put him in the bag and press out as much air as you can and seal up. That's about it and the best way to do it at least short term meaning 3-9 months before getting to the taxidermist.

Nylon can damage the feathers especially if the bird moved opposite to the grain of the feathers. Newspaper actually wicks away water from the bird, greatly increasing freezerburn.
