Postby Qballs » Sat Jan 21, 2012 10:42 am

What are everyone's plans for gear updates for 2012?

I am planning on purchasing a pro guide xl blind,
A dozen Dakota's,
A dozen GHG shells

Not sure what else.....

The big purchase is either a duck boat or I may have to buy a trailer again. Had one for a season then sold it. It sucks hunting out of the truck. Plus I loved using the trailer as storage. I could actually use my garage space. Also plan on buying another dozen DSD feeders and another finisher blind that I will use strictly for grass. Sucked constantly switching back and forth from stubbling corn one day then grass the next then back to corn, got old.
If I was a goose I would want to land in my decoys.

Seriously considering going all DDs lessers next year with some more silos as fillers. Maybe another layout dedicated to early seaon hunting too.

Only thing i will be doing is sending the SBE1 to batesville AR to get some work done to it. She has had an illustrious career and she needs to be worked on a little bit.

2 major purchases now that my full body goose decoys are all sold.

#1: 15 dozen RG Pro II's.

#2: Momarsh Fatboy DP or Carsten Canvasback. ( Haven't made my final decision on this one yet)

For me

10 dozen pro series II at least. And maybe 2 dozen more Dakota lessers.

And I refuse to buy another goose call!

At some point this year I'll be purchasing a GooseBuster XL, snow cover, and a snow cover for a SUB.

Bay Country Shorething or RNT Daisy Cutter (Got some Cabelas cards to burn!)

Always try and add a minimum of a dozen decoys as well. Tried the all silloutte thing this year and won't be messing with that anymore (I know tough year to judge, but fool me once same on you, fool me twice...)

Want to go in with a couple guys on an enclosed trailor as well...

Working on an impoundment on one property and will need an ice eater or fountain to keep it open late season.

Getting rid of the P.O.S. Super Nova I bought last year nothing but problems :x . In fact it's sent in to Benelli right now for the trigger sticking. It's seen it's last day in my hands.

So I'll be looking for a 870 super mag or a bps. I'd really like to get a 10ga. but I need a 12ga.

I will sell all my shells decoy and build some more exciting silo decoys upgrade my snow hunting stadium seats and put a camo cover on the as I plan to travel light and travel with better gas mileage, hence I might be buying a two door Jeep Wranger 4x4 as my wife says there is only the two us and we don't need the Isuzu rodeo 4x4.
I will be buying lightweight warmer clothing. and stocking a good medical kit.

I'm going to replace the tiny bungees on my AXP's with a 3/16" Black bungee. Other than that...add a few more DSD's to my personal spread.

Qballs. I would recommend the SX3 the gun is flat out amazing in every category! In the end though just go to the store and shoulder all of them and pick what fits you.
